Minor Flooding at Atlantic Pond Some minor flooding has been apparent on the Atlantic Pond in the past week due to the failure of one of the flap valves at Atlantic Pond. The purpose of the flap valve is to let water out of Atlantic pond into the River Lee at low tide and to prevent water from entering the Atlantic Pond from the River Lee at high tide. The result is that water is now entering Atlantic Pond and flooding the footpaths at high tide. Cork City Council is aware of the issue and hopes to have it repaired as soon as possible. Until it is resolved one can expect flooding of the footpaths to coincide with high tide.
